The Gore Range is the jagged mountain range that dominates the eastern skyline as seen from Vail ski area, and the western skyline as seen from Silverthorne and north Summit County. The Eagles Nest Wilderness encompasses most of this small mountain range. Some of the most rugged mountainous terrain in Colorado can be found here, though the most rugged parts aren't easily visible from any roads.
