Aoraki / Mt. Cook and the Southern Alps bask in the glorious evening light far above the clouds and rainforest below. The clouds stretch out over the Tasman Sea.
This is a super wide panorama with a view greater than 180º, and you can see all the way from the earth shadow on the left side to the brighter sunset sky on the right. The Tasman Sea would be behind you.
This was one of the most stunning scenes I've witnessed in my life - the reward of a memorable adventure climbing up through the rainforest and the rain, along a long ridgeline in the fog above bushline, to this highpoint above the clouds. You can read more about the adventure here.
