This is the mean east face of Paine Grande, the highest peak of Torres del Paine National Park in Chile. The summit is almost always covered in clouds, and in fact this photo only shows the lower portion of this enormous mountain. It is very impressive to hike below this imposing face and watch the ice calve off and rumble down to the glacier below. Photo © copyright by Jack Brauer.
