Lofoten Sunset

Lofoten Islands, Norway

A spectacular sunset over the Lofoten Islands, as seen from the summit of Hermannsdalstinden (1029m), the tallest mountain on Moskenesøya Island.

I scrambled up this rugged peak late in the evening and watched the sunset at about 11:30pm or so.  On the hike down I had no need for a headlamp, as the constant nighttime sunset provided ample light to see my way.  By the time I got back down to my tent the sun was rising again!  Summertime photography in the Arctic is fun!
