Kea New Zealand
A kea in the high mountains of the Southern Alps. This is the only alpine parrot species in the world, and an almost constant companion while traveling in the mountains in New Zealand. These parrots are very smart, and also very devious. I heard many funny [infuriating] kea stories, and have a few of my own too. Photo © copyright by Jack Brauer.
