From September 2011 to January 2012, my fiance Claudia and I traveled for 15 weeks from the top of northern Chile all the way down to the tip of South America, detouring into Argentina various times along the route. We experienced a wide range of landscapes ranging from the surreal deserts and high volcanoes of the Atacama Desert and Altiplano of northern Chile, to the wet rainforests and snowy volcanoes of the Lakes Districts of Chile and Argentina, to the spectacular glaciers and jagged spires of Patagonia, to the wild mountains and weather of Tierra del Fuego and Isla Navarino.
Below, in roughly chronological order, are my favorite landscape photos from our journey. During our travels I frequently posted about our adventures on my blog, so to read a lot more about our treks and travels and to see lots more photos, check out the Andes pages on my blog.
